Magazine Covers

This is a very interesting article by my friend Catherine Claire. Give it a read. Makes me think that no one ever looks in reality the way they seem to look. On the site that she links to, it reminds me of how a computer generated Barbie looks, an arm so thin and long it looks alien.

me neither, but I'm guessing it's the Faith Hill cover. I hate that magazines do that. It's bad enough we all have this complex thinking we need to look like beautiful Hollywood, but then they stack the deck making it impossible because we're comparing ourselves to a figment of some dude's imagination.

Sorry. Fixed it.

I am behind or something! You guys must know much more than me. I never read the news. What a dork I am.

But, my friend wrote this article, which is important to consider!! She has some good points.

It is a very interesting article with lots to think about. For so long we hear the words, "Who you are is more important than what you look like" and the the world of advertising, media etc change it around.

Your friend makes some very good points about what true beauty is and what it looks like.
Personally, I reckon Faith Hill looks better without the computer generated image.

Wow that's amazing. I agree with the poster above, she looks like a PERSON in the unretouched photo and a strange Barbie doll in the CGI.

It kinda makes me wonder why she (and others) let people do that to them. Probably a dumb question.

She looked WAY better before the touch-up.

I got to the link and it is just disgusting. what we need are more celebrities that REFUSE to let them tamper with the photos, and insist on being real. don't you think?

as for your coinage thing I have to tell you this, and you are going to BARF

last night at baskin robbins, while we were getting our orders, one of the 2 girls took a coin/penny out of the tip cup, threw it and it landed in the ice-cream scoop water thingy. and they LEFT IT THERE. I glared at them and have been thinking about it ever since, whether or not to lodge a complaint.
