ABBA Zabba

My sister in law brought ABBA into my house about a month ago after she saw Mama Mia at the theater. She made me suffer through it as I made dinner. She would totally laugh at this-- I guess it is not so bad. Well, I am trying to be nice, but I hate any type of disco-esque stuff---the Bee Gees are worse. I tend to think that if a guy sounds like a high-pitched alien when he sings, it is unnatural and should not be played. As for ABBA, I just have a slight aversion, although I can understand the attraction. Like rap. I really do not like rap at all, but I can understand how attractive it can be when I hear some decent artists mix a good beat with some fun loops.

Well, every time I get off the treadmill ABBA is blasting in the house. The Girl puts it on nearly every day and listens to particular songs over and over. "Chiquitita?" Don't make me blow chunks.

I feel it is un-American not to like the Bee Gees. Gee whiz. Everyone likes the Bee Gees.

Does this mean you're not a dancing queen?

Sinta--No, my friend, not everyone!

Piggy--I seriously hate the alien man's voice.

Leslee--Nope, I don't dance.

be glad you weren't growing up in the 70's and forced to listen to that stuff.....
aaaarrrrgggg!!!
although it does have some hysterical I mean historical value to me now.
disco was the main theme of our music at my 30 year reunion, so it was sort of fun to see everybody laughing and dancing.
the bee gees have a song called I Started a Joke that I really like.
maybe a few others.

I am in total agreement with you, they need to die already.

How about that KC and the Sunshine Band?

WHAT???? You don't like my music? I'm shocked!

I DID have fun forcing you to listen to it. Sort of like a beer-guzzling redneck walking into a champagne affair and regaling the people with his jokes I think. (And then maybe belching.) (Just so you don't misinterpret - my music is the beer, yours the champagne.) Sorry, but I'm glad the Girl likes it - I think it is just too much fun.

And by the way - guess which song my little Alex P. Keaton likes best? Money, Money, Money!! No kidding!

That is FUNNY, Bristow.

I was thinking as far as the beer and champagne, it was the other way around! What a fine compliment you paid me! That made my day, no joke!

She adores the music, yes. It cracks me up. She loves all the songs. She does love the Money Money one too. LOL. I can't believe that boy....he cracks me up to no end. I need to get my niece and nephew fix. Anytime they can spend the weekend with us soon?
