Rubbish

I am sorry I have not blogged in a bit. It is so not typical of me. I have had some sad things (and busy things) happen like my father dying, homeschooling chaos, doll houses to fix up (during blog time), weddings to sing at, and to top it off, this weekend, my brand new Martin guitar bit it. I mean, someone tripped on it and it got a nice sizy crack in the body. To say the least, I have not cried, have not shed a single tear, although I was worried I would. Thankfully, the guy that tripped over it offered to have it fixed, so it is in the guitar repair shop right now, getting plastic surgery. For up to five weeks. Ouch. Thankfully I have another guitar. And you know, that one has an imperfection because I over threw a hairbrush and nicked it on the body. Thankfully, it did not dent the wood, just the finish. Since the guitar itself is black, I just filled in the spot with a sharpie pen. It is not so noticeable now. All my guitars are messed up. All two of them.

My Martin cost in the thousands. Let me not think about it.

Well, now I need to bow down to the treadmill god (why oh why did I say it like that?) and then perhaps take the crazies to the pool. I really could use some sort of vacation. The pool sounds alright, I guess. Not the beach. For now, you guys need to visit this guy's myspace. He is incredible.

Woohoo! I'm first!

I feel for you on the incredibly expensive guitar stuff. Ouch. That's why I'm buing Jam Sessions for the Nintendo DS when it comes out in September. I can play it, and if someone breaks it, I'm only out $30. Besides, that's all I can really afford.

Don't forget the brotherly advice, "When in doubt, punch them in..." It'll get you out of any jam. (very bad pun intended)

If the children get a summer vacation, what do the mom's get? Oh, that is right. We have that ONE day in may.

Yup, time for a vacation for you! Sorry about the guitars. Nail polish works good for little nicks and scrapes too. I had a cherry red electric guitar that I used to "repair" that way.

So, my question is why were you throwing a hairbrush at your guitar? Gee, you do need a vacation!

OHHHH, a MARTIN guitar. I'm cringing! OUCH. I hope she is better than ever when she comes out of the 'hospital'.

Hope things settle down soon? :o)

Just breathe. :) Your father passed away?

I know what you mean about the guitar - as you know. I don't have a Martin. I play a Gallagher guitar. My dad bought it for me when I was 13 and the guitar was 40 years old at the time. It's in West Virginia right now having some $300 worth of repairs - fret job, etc. I believe it's one of the early models. I've always said in case of a fire - after my kids I would save my guitar.

King---Thanks for the support.

Dapoppins---Yeah, summer vacation is over rated.

Jennifer-- Ohhh, nail polish on a Martin guitar would not jive, but maybe on an electric? Yikes!

JRH--I used to discipline my kids with my hair brush (nice wooden, flat bottom). You will have to read this archive:http://greencathedral.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
It is under "Pelting It"

Emma---Thanks. Your hope is helping me keep my body off the floor...

Ba Doozie--Thanks. I pretty much went back into crazy smash Mac mode in my mind...I envisioned how I felt when I saw you destroy that thing. Gives me cramps...

Anne--Thank you. Yes, my father passed away last month. That is why I was gone in ID for a spell and then I did not write for a little bit. Ever since then my writing has not been as regular. Don't know why though.

Oh, Anne...that sounds like a cool guitar. I hope it is ok when it gets back. Yours is under surgery too! I feel better!!!

Please forgive me for not paying enough attention to know about your father. I am sorry for what you are going through.

Woman---Thanks

Anne---It is totally ok. I did not openly offer the information, so I do not expect anyone to just "know."
Don't worry.
